Fintraffic´s Vessel Traffic Services' strategy focuses on the provision of maritime traffic management and control services in such a way as to ensure the safe and undisturbed operation of vessel traffic on our sea lanes. Based on the strategy, Fintraffic´s Vessel Traffic Services' development work is centred on technological development that enables ensuring the safety and smooth running of vessel traffic.

Fintraffic´s Vessel Traffic Services aims to ensure, for its part, the competitiveness of Finnish shipping and the emergence of intelligent maritime transport, as well as to actively promote the development of transport ecosystems at national and international level. The development work is carried out especially in the core services for traffic control and management. The company is also developing new service models for information and situational awareness services, as well as the remote control of vessels and support services for shore-based pilotage.
